Elgiva Field
Associate Director

Elgiva Field is an Associate Director of Theatre-Rites.  She has worked with the company on three productions: Paradise, a large-scale site-specific production created commissioned by the Ruhrtriennale; Bank On It, an interactive, immersive experience commissioned by the Barbican, Create, Warwick Arts Centre and Warwick University; and Recycled Rubbish, a smaller version of our production Rubbish created to tour to schools and community centres.

In 2015 Elgiva was Creative Producer for Bournemouth Arts by the Sea Festival and in 2014 was Joint Artistic Director of the 2014 Coventry Mysteries Festival.

For her company Oblique House she has co-produced and directed a number of productions including the UK premiere of Purge by Sofi Oksanen at the Arcola in 2012,10,000 Feet and Falling, a sound drama commissioned for the 61st Aldeburgh Festival and the 25th anniversary production of Was He Anyone? by N.F. Simpson (Union Theatre).

She has worked regularly with Punchdrunk and Les Enfants Terribles, creating site responsive outdoor work from pop-up events in the grounds of an abandoned mansion to theatrical promenades and parties at Latitude.

Sophia Clist
Associate Artist from 1998 to 2008

Sophia trained as a sculptor. Much of her work is created collaboratively with artists from other disciplines and audience interaction is often an integral component. She makes work in a variety of contexts - from black box theatre to public spaces - a shopping centre, a playground in a park; inside and outside; temporary and permanent.

Her relationship with Theatre-Rites began in 1998 when she worked as the installation artist on The Lost and Moated Land. As an Associate Artist of the company, she designed many touring and site-specific productions including Shopworks, commissioned by LIFT and the Vienna Festival in 2003, the touring show In One Ear and in 2007 she co-created Theatre-Rites first middle-scale prduction Mischief, which was commissioned by Sadler's Wells and the Dance Touring Partnership.  In 2004 she collaborated with composer Craig Vear to create a two-month long installation, Outside In commissioned by the South Bank Centre.
